First meeting of the new Council was held in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation in the format of a face-to-face and online conference.
Vladimir Maslov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AGROECO Group, who became a member of the Public Council, congratulated his peers with the start of work and suggested that biological safety issues on the territory should be top priority. His goal is to unite efforts of business, state and citizens, to make the territory of the Russian Federation as free as possible from infectious animal diseases, especially dangerous ones.
This is important condition for food safety and significant prerequisite for competitiveness of Russian producers on the global food markets.
At the present, forecast for the spread of animal diseases is unfavorable – for example, according to the Rosselkhoznadzor, in early October 2021, 215 ASF outbreaks were recorded in Russia, of which 145 cases of the virus were confirmed in domestic pigs, 70 in wild boars.
